Estate sale of the Late Malcolm Shorty Jarvis, well Known friend to 60s activist Malcolm X
All items are in great condition for there age, and 100% original and authentic..
The entire estate was auctioned off about one month ago.. I was present at this event and ended up winning everything whithin the estate which would include over 1,000 articles including scripts, photos, original manuscripts, and many other personal possessions.
Malcolm L. Jarvis Sr. was born in Roxbury MA in xxxx and was a long time friend to Malcolm X, which would all began in a pool hall in Roxbury MA in xxxx.. Mr. Jarvis, known as "Shorty," was a well-known jazz trumpeter and whose life would be portrayed in the movie "Malcolm X" by actor and director Spike Lee
Before his death at age 75 in xxxx Shorty Jarvis was a professional musician, but was the inseparable friend of Malcolm X, from the age of 13 until Malcolm's death years later. they lived together, partied together, and served time together for crimes they committed.
It was during their 5 1/2 year stint in the Massachusetts State Prison that they avidly studied religion and philosophy, which ultimately led to Malcolm X's conversion to Islamic religion, Although "Shorty" Himself did not relinquish his Christian beliefs, the deep friendship he shared with Malcolm X remained unaffected.
As the last surviving close friend of Malcolm X, "Shorty" Jarvis was a living history of the man whose life had served as a beacon to people of all ages, race creed and color.
