Manager, Reliability & Maintenance Summary of Duties: The Manager, Reliability & Maintenance is responsible for planning, scheduling and executing all manufacturing general maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement activities in line with the plant’s strategic goals and objectives. The Manager is accountable for leading the facility’s key performance indicators. This is to be accomplished by reducing machine downtime and unscheduled maintenance through improved equipment reliability. An effective preventive maintenance program is expected. Productivity improvements are also expected as a result of utilizing process tools and knowledge of system capability. Specifically, the program focuses on value creation measure by improved equipment reliability to maximize manufacturing productivity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Accountable for overall plant reliability as measured by AMR (Asset Mechanical Reliability) and %RAB (ratio of maintenance spending to plant value). o Report weekly, monthly, quarterly; on asset utilization, by line and by plant. o Compile and analyze daily plant downtime data to set maintenance and project priorities. o Develop Pareto charts to identify asset utilization improvement opportunities. o Develop and maintain a 3 year plan to reach 98% AMR. o Identify and implement small capital or expense projects to address reliability issues. o Preventative Maintenance Process § Develop PM schedule templates for mechanical equipment and registered equipment (vessels, reliefs, etc.) § Schedule and coordinate PM work orders. § Provide expertise on PM methods, e.g. alignment, vibration, etc. · Lead the maintenance group to exceed plant reliability goals. o Manage a group of self-directed maintenance technicians (6- 8). o Support maintenance technicians and process engineers with equipment expertise including hands-on assistance when needed. o Develop and maintain a work order system to be used by operations and maintenance personnel. o Secure outside resources as needed to moderate workload. o Schedule, plan, and manage (overall) plant shutdowns. o Technical resource for equipment and system troubleshooting. · Manage and continuously improve the plant’s Mechanical Integrity Program (Pressure Relief, Vessels, Flexhoses, etc.). · Review project descriptions and equipment specifications for reliability and maintainability issues. · Lead root cause investigations (RCIs) and failure analysis for asset utilization incidents. o Track action item completion and effectiveness for RCIs. · Based on the process model and experience, update the prioritized critical spare parts list and a 1 year plan to implement. · Responsible for the operability of material handling equipment in the plant (ovens, roll/web handling, cranes, conveyors, etc.). · Attend daily production meetings to monitor repeat or major losses due to equipment issues. · As needed, manage capital and expense projects to support manufacturing goals. Education and Experience: · BS (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Preferred, Electrical or Industrial Considered). · 5 to 10 years experience in a chemical plant or process-oriented operation.
